I read The Last Battle by C.S. Lewis last night and was inspired to draw a unicorn. I wanted to draw it a little different though, because white unicorns don't seem to have much inherent personality. Sooo I looked at a bunch of gazelles and deer (especially their feet) and opted for the tan coloring. Also, as soon as I make and spend time on a character or whole design I mush that character into the vague storyline of my other characters.
So.. you'll see more of her.
And next post I'll ask for name suggestions if I can't think of one myself :)

Also, the mane color is bothering me... oh well.

And i do quite like her tanned pelt, a nice change from the 'pure white' unicorns you see now and then.


Referencing(is that even a word? o.o;;.) her feet off of deer and gazelle, i think, was actually a smart idea. It gives her more of a graceful, delicate look. (since deer, etc are considered graceful creatures, the feet look great on unicorns)


Another definite fav from moi :D



P.S.
Personally, i think the mane colour fits well with her body colour; not too dark, and yet not too bright ^_^

What a beautiful design! She's so delicate and elegant, and the tan color is perfect. It's a very magical / mythological feeling =)

that's a really nice take on a unicorn i really like it... it holds all the elegance and mistique that a unicorn should have...
